Team 1, 2, 3, then 3, 2, 1: the snake mixes the field, so no team gets all the first ones home. The most even teams.

Everyone plays from their own phone or computer. Start the race once they're all in.
Paste your list of names, choose how many teams you need and press start. Every name becomes a duck in the same 3D river, and the order they cross the line deals everyone into teams, live, in front of the whole group.
No sign-up, no download: up to 1,000 names and 200 teams, your own team names, captains, and players who follow the race on their phones.
Team 1, 2, 3, then 3, 2, 1: the snake mixes the field, so no team gets all the first ones home. The most even teams.
Team 1, 2, 3, then round again from Team 1: the simplest way to explain to a class or a group of friends.
The first ones home make up Team 1, the next ones Team 2: for heats, levels or groups that follow the finishing order.
Pick a captain for each team. The captains lead their teams in the order they finish, and the race deals everyone else round them.
Split a class into groups for projects, debates or games in a minute, on the projector, with nobody picked last.
Five-a-side, volleyball, a quiz night or a board game tournament: fair teams before the first whistle, and no arguments.
Then copy the teams, download them as a picture or share them on a page of their own.
The full guideYes. Every duck has the same chance in every race: the lanes are drawn at random and the river treats every duck the same way. How the order is dealt is set before the start, so nobody can steer a name into a team.
Run the fairness testThe teams come out as even as they can be: with 14 people in 4 teams, two teams get 4 and two get 3. Choose People per team instead to set the size, and the number of teams follows.
Yes. Open a room and players scan the QR code. Each phone follows its own duck and, when the race ends, shows its team and teammates.
