Version 2 · the 3D duck race5 releases

v2.4 — a new blog, in every language

New

v2.3 — who pays?

  • First across the line can lose: a new setting turns the race round, for when the race is to find who pays, who goes first or who does the chore. The first duck home is announced as the loser, on the big screen and on every phone in a room.
  • Race history, in detail: open a race to see its top ten with times, open its result page, or run the same names again in one tap.
  • Result pages keep the top 100 places for 12 months, and whoever made one can delete it: from the race in their history, or from My result pages when signed in.
  • “How was your race?”: one tap after a race, and a line to say what could be better.
  • Fantasy draft order: a new page sets up a race for your league’s draft order in seconds, with a short race link to send to the league and “has the 1st pick!” at the finish.
  • Your picture: signed in, the Sign in button shows your Google picture.
  • Terms and privacy: the terms now say who runs the game, that results have no money value and that a giveaway’s organiser is responsible for it; the privacy policy adds the legal bases, where data is kept, your rights and how to complain, a section for California, and Global Privacy Control is honoured.

v2.2 — your races, everywhere

  • Sign in to sync: with Google sign-in, your saved lists and race history follow you to every device. Signed out, they stay in your browser, as before.
  • Result pages: publish a race’s result — the winner, the podium and every place — at an address of its own, to share anywhere and keep as the record.
  • Settings: the winner’s message can be switched off, and the live standings list beside the race is now a setting (off by default, for a clearer view of the water).
  • A one-tap “How was your race?”, sharper screenshots, and clearer answers in the FAQ about signing in, where your lists are kept and the finish-line replay (VAR).

v2.1 — quicker races, livelier rooms

New
  • A 100 m course for a result in about ten seconds, beside 300, 600 and 900 m (still as fair: see the fairness test).
  • Racers and spectators: a room can let players race a duck, just watch and chat, or choose; doors that open at a set time; how many race and how many watch, at a glance.
  • The race on every phone: players watch the race live on their phones, chat beside it, see the winner when the host stops it, and watch the host’s slow-motion replay of the finish with them.
  • Tidier rooms: players who close the page are shown as away, then offline, and are let go after a while (they can join again in one tap); a random card style beside the random name; a three-second count before the host’s Start, so every phone is ready.
  • A cleaner race screen on a phone held sideways, and a brand assets page.

v2.0 — the 3D duck race

Major update

Random Duck Race, rebuilt from the water up.

  • A 3D river race for up to 1,000 ducks: currents, rapids and slipstreams, a camera that follows the leaders, farms, woods, ponds and grazing herds along the banks, and the same chance for every duck (the fairness test runs the game’s real physics).
  • 100+ duck skins in four themes, or your own picks (a random mix, or a duck for each name); day, dusk or night; 300, 600 or 900 m; name tags for the top 5, 10 or 20.
  • Names your way: paste up to 1,000, import a CSV or Excel file, Quick fill, and up to 100 saved lists.
  • Results: a referee-style slow-motion replay of the finish (VAR), run by itself for a photo finish; your own message under the winner’s name, on a card in one of eight looks; every time and gap, a result image, an Excel download and your last 100 races; take the winner — or several finishers — out and race again.
  • Rooms: players join on their phones with a QR code or a PIN, pick a name and a duck, chat, react and follow the race live; the host can race a duck of their own, approves, locks and moderates, can hand the room to any player between races, and can set a start time (change it, pause it, play it on).
  • Share and embed: short links with a QR code, ready-written posts and an embed builder with a live preview, for your own site.
  • 16 languages, each with its own home page (see them all), and optional sign-in with Google.
  • A site to explore: the blog and guides, the duck gallery, screenshots, contact, feedback and cookie settings.
